THE PRIVATE RECORD
PRIVACY
Last updated September 3, 2026.
What we collect
We collect the story, question, pasted text, and screenshots you choose to submit. We also record privacy-conscious hashes, not ordinary raw IP addresses, to limit abuse and duplicate votes.
Private source material
Original text and screenshots are private source material. Screenshots are stored in private object storage, are never placed on public URLs, and are scheduled for deletion after the configured short retention period. Only sanitized structured text can become public.
Service providers
We may use service providers to prepare rulings, screen content for safety, extract text and detect faces in screenshots, prevent automated abuse, store private files, and monitor reliability. Public-launch configuration requires these checks to fail closed. Model requests disable provider-side response storage where supported.
Publication
Nothing becomes public automatically. You must review the exact sanitized case and choose “Publish anonymously.” Consent does not override our safety rules.
Analytics
We collect first-party product events to understand submissions, votes, shares, reports, and share-attributed visits. Fictional seed cases are excluded from genuine-submission reporting.
Contact and deletion
A monitored support and deletion email will appear here before public launch. Administrators can unpublish or delete cases from the operations desk.
